After visiting the local Best Buy in my neighborhood, the display arrangements of products I noticed had a potential marketing problem that affected the store. I also realized that not every Best Buy store has the exact same display arrangements but this particular one had a rather unattractive way of displaying some products that made it difficult for me as a consumer. This might make it difficult for Best Buy to capture value from its customers because if certain products aren't placed properly in the store it can be misleading and consumers might assume they do not carry that specific product. Display of products is crucial in marketing because companies like Best Buy must be able to capture their target consumers properly by displaying products at the right place or height for them to be able to spot out. The share of customer and customer equity could be negatively affected which can also result in a decrease in profit. This would be where employees become an asset to the company because they would be there to help those consumers that need assistance in finding that product.

At the Best Buy Store, I specifically went to the TV section because that was the section I observed the longest and noticed that display arrangements created this marketing problem. Best Buy is known for their electronics and all the different brands they carry, the TV brands range from Samsung, Sony, LG, and lower end TV brands like Insignia. The display arrangements were really strange to me because they separated the TVs from sizes rather than brands. Not only that, but only the bigger brands like Sony had their own showcase for the new expensive TVs while last years model was at the end of the store on a shelf, opposed to its own unique showroom. This could be really difficult for them to sell their old inventory unless they put them on sale. Brands like Sony and Samsung obviously pay them to display the newer model in the middle of the store to attract consumers, which is a very effective way to sell their products. Insignia and lower end TV brands don't have their own showcase because they are aimed towards lower end customers. The problem with this type of display appearance is that consumers cannot see all the Samsung, Sony, or LG TV models the store actually carries all at once. Consumers would be confined to a very specific brand and size if they were unaware of the lower end TVs and smaller sized TVs.
