maltreated and persecuted begin to believe their situation will never

want to be better because they feel it will never get better.

I understand how these people can feel this way. My situation is very

similar. As English is not my first language, I am intimidated by the

language and my verbal skills. I know if I study more, I will have

more advantages; but studying is not easy so I think; ok, I'm fine,

life is ok the way it is and I will resign myself to what I have

accomplished so far. To achieve something or to be better at something

will take a struggle. If I'm not willing to change, nothing will

change.
