To the People of the State of New York:

It is to my knowledge that our present government needs a lot of improvement including the Articles of Confederation. I am urging each and every one of You to please accept the Constitution that I am proposing to get ratified. The Constitution will include the following: federalism, checks and balances, separated powers, pluralism, and representation.

The Constitution allows the congress the things the Articles of Confederation doesn't. For example it allows for the creation of an army, coinage of money, the right to levy taxes, and regulate trade between states and other countries. With Articles of Confederation, there was no regulation of commerce between the states, and states could even enter into treaties with foreign nations and declare war with the consent of Congress. Congress could not tax the states or the people, it could only request funds to run the government.

I strongly believe that our government would be a far more better one if it had a separation of powers because the Articles of Confederation created a weak national government with most of the governmental powers retained by the states. I propose the legislature, executive, and judicial branches to be made in order to protect our individual freedom and so government won't abuse its power. The legislative branch most important duty is to create laws, the executive branch is ran by the president whom makes the laws official, and the judicial branch oversees the court system of the U.S..

In order to keep the concept of America as a republic, the Constitution suggests the separation of powers The federal government is viewed as one nation rather than as a piece of thirteen separate states under one authority. The definition of a Republic is: a constitutionally limited government of the representative type. In regards to foreign states, The Constitution extends our commercial relations in order to have more connection.

Overall, I propose for The Constitution to be ratified in order to form a more better Union. It is with your help, the citizens of New York, that we can make this happen. So, I urge You all to accept the Constitution and all its advantages, Thank You.
