Abraham Lincoln (1809 - 1865) was America's 16th President. He was elected the country most talent leader by America historian.

What he did?

He led the USA through a great constitutional, military and moral crisis includes: the American Civil War - preserving the Union, while ending slavery, and promoting economic and financial modernization.

What I admire?

He is a famous example of independence and self-striving. Abraham Lincoln lived in poverty circumstances and lacked of opportunities to go to school but he tried his best to become a person who has an extreme high status of the world.

When facing with a stumbling block or a failure, a normal person can give up and lose his life goals easily. President Abraham Lincoln is an example to posterity because each adversity is a challenge for him to rise, each failure is an opportunity to learn to be successful. The more tense adversity is, the more powerful struggle is. The more bitter failure is, the more valuable success is! So he is a great person!

His vision

About, military, Lincoln closely supervised the war effort, especially the selection of top generals, including commanding general Ulysses S. Grant. He brought leaders of various factions of his party into his cabinet and pressured them to cooperate. Each time a general failed, Lincoln substituted another until finally Grant succeeded in 1865. An exceptionally astute politician deeply involved with power issues in each state, he reached out to War Democrats and managed his own re-election in the 1864 presidential election.

Politically, Lincoln fought back with patronage, by pitting his opponents against each other, and by appealing to the American people with his powers of oratory. His Gettysburg Address of 1863 became the most quoted speech in American history. It was an iconic statement of America's dedication to the principles of nationalism, equal rights, liberty, and democracy. At the close of the war, Lincoln held a moderate view of Reconstruction, seeking to speedily reunite the nation through a policy of generous reconciliation in the face of lingering and bitter divisiveness.

Both his parents where illiterate and in his adolescence, the total time he go to school isn't more than a year. However, he always strives for better future.

After self - education the grammar and mathematic, he began studying law. In 1836, he became lawyer and after twenty years, he become the most famous and successful lawyer in Illinois.
