William Shakespeare

“To be or not to be” said Shakespeare. Shakespeare is the most recognized poet and play writer. Shakespeare was born in Stratford-on-Avon. His most famous plays are Hamlet, Romeo, Juliet, and Midsummer Night’s Dream. Although some people disagree with him, he still wrote plays and poetry.

Shakespeare birthday is unknown but he was baptize on April 1564. Shakespeare was educated at the King’s, a new school in Stratford. A free-chartered school in 1553. The first time he saw a play was when he was four. He did not understand the words but loved the sound of them and loved the costumes. At the age of eighteen, he got married with a 26-year-old Anne Hathaway. On the November 27, 1582, Shakespeare had three children with his wife.

William’s parents were both election to the position of Alderman in Stratford-up-Avon, brought with free education. Shakespeare began his education at the age of six or seven at the Stratford grammar school. The early education of Shakespeare relating to basic manners would have included learning table manners such as eating small morsels, chewing properly, using a knife and using a napkin. The teachers of William were Catholic so William's education would have been influence by their beliefs.

William continued by studying the work of great classical authors and dramatists such as Ovid, Virgil and Horace. He finishes his education at the age of fourteen.

Shakespeare's accomplishments writing at least thirty-eight plays, 154 poems and 2 narratives. His most famous plays Romeo and Juliet, a Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth. He wrote tragedies. comedies and histories. The only one that was comedy was name, Midsummer Night’s Dream. William had a talent for expressing thoughts and feelings. He had a deep understanding of human behavior. Shakespeare had the skill to present, his vivid characters and drama.

Shakespeare got criticism from groups like Puritans. Puritans did not believe in theater, and made many attempts to close him down. Most people thought he was very clever and entertaining and they liked him because his stories appealed to all social classes. William’s poetry was widely admired by many people. He had a deep influence on writers. People would sometimes quote his line, without knowing it. Some like “Love is blind” and “All’s well that ends well.”

Shakespeare greatest successes are his thirty-eight plays, 154 poems and 2 narratives. The most famous are Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo & Juliet. Romeo and Juliet seem to be the most famous. There have been thousands of story alike and movies.

William’s material possession would be, his play scripts. Why his scripts, it show all his hard work. His work on just one, showing love, hate and compassion. Shakespeare’s poems, also show many different kinds of emotions.
