The chance that something could happen is called probability. The probability shows the percentage that the event may happen. One type of probability is called theoretical probability. A profession that uses theoretical probability is Insurance Agents. Based on the amount of accidents people have between ages 21 and 35 for example they can give a percentage of how likely you would be to have an accident based on your age and the amount of people in the study. This type of probability is calculated by doing repeated trials of an experiment and is based on a sample. The frequency for something to happen or the likelihood of it happening is what probability is about. It is used for horse racing, the weather, the lottery, and even the medical field uses probability. Probability is performed by collecting and analyzing data. Tends in random events and patterns are what probability deals with.

By using actual market data an empirical study is performed. What makes empirical probability different from theoretical, or estimated probability which is produced through general principles is that it is based on observed fact. Empirical probability decreases error from using incorrect models, but it does increase error from random events. An example of empirical probability would be if a coin is flipped 100 times. If it comes up heads 56 times and tails 44 times the empirical probability would be 56%. Based on this data it would be expected that heads would come up again. One profession that uses empirical probability is Environmental Researchers. An example would be if they were to take the amount of pollution in a river over a five year period. If there were a 10% increase each year, then they could easily say that the river would be completely polluted in ten years.

I have decided to have a fairly simple problem for this task. I know that I had enough problems with the homework and so we all might need a break. The problem is; let's say that I have a password that uses six numbers from one through six. If each number is only input once then what would be the total possible number of different ways to enter the password?
