The name of the book I read was the testament. The testament contains 533 pages and the publisher of the book is Dell publishing a division of Random house, Inc. The author of the testament is John Grisham. John grisham has been identified as the number best selling author. The testament was published during the month of January during the year 2000. The reason why I choose this book to read is because the cover of the book grabbed my attention and it was also required on a reading list. This book was the winner of the New York Times best seller and it's also the first time in paperback.

The main character in the testament is troy phelan. At the age of 97 Troy phelan is a multi billionaire that produces electricity and makes computers. His company also builds dams, print paperbacks and broadcast signals directly to his very own satellite. Troy Phelan owns silver in Nevada and copper in Montana and coffee in Kenya and coal in Angola and rubber in Malaysia and natural gas in Texas and crude oil in Indonesia and steel in china. Troy has been married three times and he has six children. Troy phelan wonders about his children if they loved him for his money or for himself alone. Another main character is the daughter of the multi billionaire Rachel Lane. Rachel is a mysterious women living deep n the Brazilian jungle without knowing who or where her father is.

Now to the first family that troy was part of. First off there is Lillian. Lillian was the first wife of troy and was know as the fidgety one. Lillian had four of the six children that troy has. Their son troy junior (T.J) was tossed from college for selling drugs on campus. Next we have Janie; Janie was the accountant for his company but was promoted rapidly to go on business trips with troy. Once he noticed how much he needed her they got married. Then there is rocky, their son. Rocky was killed in a sports card accident which cost troy millions of dollars. The next wife was Tira. Tira was twenty three when her and troy got married, mind you that troy was 64. Their son name was ramble. Ramble wasn't the brightest child in the bunch he was arrested twice for possession of marijuana and shoplifting. Then there is a lawyer that has the biggest job that must b completed. Nate O'Riley. Nate has been summoned out of rehab to find troy's daughter that he has left his fortune with.

The testament is the type of book that starts of as a tragedy and ends as a mystery. The book was set in Virginia and ended in the patanal region in Brazil. The book was set in a present time period. Some other physical locations of where the book took place were on a plane and a boat to the patanal region in Brazil. The book was much fasted paced and detailed. The main character has signed a will that is giving his eleven billion dollar fortune to an offspring of his. The outcome of the book is that he gives his fortune
