Microeconomics is the study of components of larger aggregates -- by investigating a wide range of problems from prices to monopolies and from urban decay to industrial pollution. This class includes the complete anatomy of the market system. Macroeconomics is learning the more broad and general aspects of the economy as a whole. This foundation course will feature basic economic theories, principles and issues, and includes evaluation of the market system. Legal Environment of Business 1 examines the American legal processes and specific areas of law that guide business decisions, and addresses the aspects of law and its standards for human behavior that increasingly affect and constrain business activity. Business Mathematics studies many of the business concepts used in everyday life, such as purchasing different types of insurance, buying on credit, obtaining stock in a company and money handling in general, while also rebuffing math skills. This is important because I want to be prepared for the more advanced math classes I will be taking soon like Algebra. Business Ethics examines ethics through an in-depth study of a number of important social issues related to the conduct of business in modern society, with topics ranging from business and the environment to interpersonal relations. Humor in the Workplace examines the uses of humor as a communication strategy in the workplace, whether office, hospital, or home. The psychological and physiological benefits of humor can be very rewarding and make a work environment a more desirable place, making employees enjoy their job much more. Information Literacy teaches you how information is gathered and stored electronically and how information relevant to academic research projects can be extracted and evaluated, improving your literacy skills. Statistics: An Activity Based Approach is a math class that can fall under a general education class, but for this degree it will fall under the concentration area since it is vital to Business/ Management. This class studies the fundamental concepts and methods of data analysis, which is what corporations use to understand the consumer's needs or to track the company's sales volume. Intro to Accounting 1 and Intro to Accounting 2 are a two part program that study the basic accounting principles and procedures for gathering, recording, summarizing, reporting and interpreting accounting data that are relevant to a company's financial assets and investments. Management Principles is a class that teaches the practical applications of management concepts in the work environment in this introductory course. This course will provide me with the opportunity to apply course concepts to any type of business organization that exists, whether non-profit or profit. Labor/Management Relations examines the nature, determinants and socioeconomic impact of collective bargaining and labor-management relations in the United States. This is an important class to learn and maintain the employee-management relationship, which is so important. Without a good relationship between them, you business may look unprofessional, loose it's reputation, or even fall apart.

For a concentration in marketing, students are expected to take marketing at the introductory level, followed by at least three out of the four following upper-level studies: marketing communications or the equivalent, marketing research, consumer behavior, and marketing management or marketing strategy.
