Business Writing Portfolio Part III

Concerning the topic of delivering the message to change time in retail store operations one must make sure that the message is delivered in a timely manner. When changes are presented to any type of business it is very important to advertise the change at least 30 to 60 days before taking action. One reason it is important is that this will allow managers, store employees, retail customers, and the public to have time to adjust to the time change. It may be cost- effective for the retail stores, but it may not be convenient for customers for the retail stores not to be open on Sunday. Sometimes individual would prefer shopping on Sunday and not during the week. An example is that one would not share with your customers the benefit that the employees will receive, but you will offer them a positive outcome for opening and closing an hour earlier. When you write to the managers your tone should be clearly stated so that they will assist in helping relate this information to the employees in a positive way. Then when you write the message to employees you want to make sure they understand that there is a benefit for them such as time off with family and that no employee will lose there job. Each message had to be delivered based upon the type of audience.

When comparing and contrasting other academic writing that I have had to do in the past I find this one to be difficult. The reason that it was difficult was because the same information had to be presented to three different audiences. When one is writing the same message and delivering it to different audience the content of the message must reach all audiences in a positive manner. One can tend to think of it as unethical to have to relate the same
