Initially Disney was first set up by Walt and his brother Roy. O. Disney in 1923, as a small studio. The studio was moderately successful, making and selling short animated films and commercials. In 1927, during a train journey from New York to Los Angeles (where the studio was based), Walt created the character of Mickey Mouse. In November 1927, the Disney studio made "Steamboat Willie", the first Mickey Mouse animated film. The movie was very successful and Mickey Mouse soon became the world's most loved cartoon character

Over the years, the Disney studio grew and started making several other animated films apart from Mickey Mouse cartoons. In 1950 Disney completed its first live action film.in 1954 the company began television with Disneyland anthology series.in 1955 ,Disney's most successful series ,the mickey mouse club ,began .also in 1955,the new Disneyland park in California was opened.in 200 to 2007 Disney created new attraction in theme parks, produced many successful films and opened new hotels. History

Disney was first set up by Walt and his brother Roy. O. Disney (the father of the present Roy Disney) in 1923, as a small studio. The studio was moderately successful, making and selling short animated films and commercials. In 1927, during a train journey from New York to Los Angeles (where the studio was based), Walt created the character of Mickey Mouse. In November 1927, the Disney studio made "Steamboat Willie", the first Mickey Mouse animated film. The movie was very successful and Mickey Mouse soon became the world's most loved cartoon character.

Over the years, the Disney studio grew and started making several other animated films apart from Mickey Mouse cartoons. In the late-1920s, Disney animators started working on an animation series called "Silly Symphonies". This series featured animation pieces that were set to classical music. One of this series, "Flowers and Trees", won Disney its first Academy Award. In the late-1930s, Disney studio made "Snow White", which was the first ever full length animation film. "Snow White" was extremely successful, receiving critical acclaim as well as commercial success. In 1950 Disney completed its first live action film.in 1954 the company began television with Disneyland anthology series.in 1955 ,Disney's most successful series ,the mickey mouse club ,began .also in 1955,the new Disneyland park in California was opened. Disney created a series of releases from 1950s to 1970s.

In 1983, Tokyo Disneyland opened. After leaving the network television in 1983, the company created a popular cable network.in 1992 Disneyland Paris opened in France. In 2000 to 2007 Disney created new attraction in theme parks, produced many successful films and opened new hotels.

1. The Walt Disney Studios or Studio Entertainment

Studio Entertainment includes the company's film, recording label, and theatrical divisions. The Walt Disney Studios is the basis on which Disney was built The Walt Disney studios produces live-action and animated motion pictures, direct-to-video content, musical recordings and live stage plays.

2. Parks and Resorts

Parks and Resorts, featuring the company's theme parks, cruise line, and other travel-related assets; The segment was formed in 1952 has grown to cover the world-class Disney Cruise Line, eight Disney Vacation Club resorts, Adventures by Disney , and five resort locations on three continents. The businesses in the Parks and Resorts segment generate revenues from the sale of admissions to the theme parks; charges for room nights at the hotels; merchandise, food and beverage sales; sales and rentals of vacation club properties; and sales of cruise vacations.
