Individual Current Events in Business Research

In this paper we will discuss the process of business research and its importance. Before talking about the process of business research, we have to know the definition. Business research is the process in which is received, analyzed, planned and used data and information to help us make better decisions and see better results within an organization or company.

The business research process consists of seven steps, these are: clarifying the research questions, research proposal, strategy research design, data collection and preparation, data analysis and interpretation, research reporting and management decision. Each of these steps are extremely important to achieve the goal of the investigation. It is not necessary to follow step by step this process, but to run less risk is recommended to use this seven steps.

The first step (clarifying the research questions) is extremely important because it is the engine of the research, this doubt, this concern that motivates us to achieve a goal within the business. These questions should be clear and specific, while more specific it is, the better results we get. Identify management dilemmas is rarely difficult, what is really difficult is to find a dilemma in which to focus.

The second step is proposing research, here is where we work with the project planning, data gathering, analysis, interpretation, and where we report each shares about equally in the budget. It is here where we need to reserve a budget for training expenses, necessary travel and other expenses. Without the approval of the budget can be finished the research efforts due to lack of budget to expenditures involved.

The third step is research design strategy. Select a design can be difficult due to the large variety of methods, techniques and procedures that exist. An important part of this third step is the sampling design that is simply that people and events that have the desired information and that can answer our questions. A sample examines a proportion of the target population. In this process, we also use what is known as a pilot testing, which indicates whether there is any weakness in the design and instrumentation.

The fourth step is data collection and preparation. This step determines how the data is collected. What is data? Data are the facts that are presented to the investigator in the study environment. That data is edited to ensure their existence and to locate omissions.

The fifth step is data analysis and interpretation. Researchers analyzing the data generated and the information they gathered. Analysis of this data, usually involves developing summaries, looking for patterns and applying statistical techniques. This is where it is determined whether the results are consistent with the hypothesis and the established theories.
