Making the choice to enroll into school can be a big decision. How would you come to that decision? Many people think differently so therefore there are many ways to come to a decision. In the text book 'Management Leading and Collaborating' shows a great way to make a decision.

Enrolling into school there, were a few things to think about before taking that action. The very first thing I did before enrolling into any school was to find the school that best fit my schedule and life. The second thing I did was thought about when I wanted to attend school was the benefits. One of my life goals was to go to college and to be the first to graduate in my family. Another benefit attending college would be expanding my education. I love to learn and to advance my knowledge. A benefit for graduating college would be being qualified for high paying jobs; and to build relationships with stronger, knowledgeable people. The other step for making my decision to enrolling in school was determining the consequences that may come. Since I would be spending more time on studying there is less time for family and building my relationship with the boyfriend. The other consequence would be if I could not find a job for the degree I had graduated for to pay off my school loans or it ends up not being beneficial at all. The third step I would do is to make sure I have enough time to do my normal daily chorus on top of working on homework and attending class. I calculated the time I must spend every day for homework and attending class. I would then think about the time I can spend a day working on homework, attending class, working full-time, and squeezing in time for family and boyfriend; and make sure I have time for everyone and everything. After I would realize I have time for school, I would think about the financial expenses. I would ask myself if I would be able to afford the extra gas money going to class and meeting with the team. I would also make sure I can afford any school supplies such as: printer, ink, paper, and a computer to do my homework in the comfort of my own home.

The way I made my decision for enrolling into school is different than the text book 'Management Leading and Collaborating'. According to Bateman (2011), The six steps to making a decision is to identify and diagnose the problem, generate alternative solutions, evaluating alternatives, making the choice, implementing the decision, and evaluating the decision (Chapter 3). I had made the same first step by identify and diagnosing the problem. I knew I needed a better education to be qualified for a higher paying job. I also searched around many colleges to make sure it fit for me. The other step I did was making the choice, but I did not do anything after the choice.

If I had done the same exact steps as the text book 'Management Leading and Collaborating' suggests, I would have probably chosen another school.
