Gay Rights In Japan

Intro (Helena)

Gay Rights is a highly controversial subject. Opinions range from negative and positive, to no others with no opinion. All of these impact us. Gay rights are a highly debated subject. Whether one chooses to support or not is a personal decision however, taking no action can be just as impactful for those affected. The institution of marriage should be just that marriage, not a man and a woman but two people making a life-long commitment to each other. I like this one sentence to be the thesis.

Paragraph 1 (Andrea)

Religious communities state the negative effects of gay marriage. There is a gay agenda. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Gay marriage will open tolerance for other taboo topics like bestiality. Teaching young children about family diversity and how not to bully will have negative effects for the future of America.

Andy, you have great points here and I look forward to what you will be using as examples in Japan to prove your statements. Please submit your final draft for your section so we have plenty of time to review.

Paragraph 2 (Roxanne)

Society is influenced by religion and/or a form of worship such as, "The Bible", especially when determining what is right. Parents introduce morals, religion, and values to their children at a young age. Based on an individual's background and beliefs, determine what judgments and consequences may be bestowed upon them. The lack of a voice can mislead people to believe a person simply (instead of simply replace with the word "who") refuses to not participate on issues society is having on equal rights today. Voicing your opinion is not always an easy task. People seek to minimize risk when making decisions because of how they will be perceived even though they may not be gay, bisexual, lesbian, or transgendered. Fear has a major impact when trying to make the right decision and standing up for what you believe in. A controversial topic such as, "Gay Rights" can be a difficult decision for a person to choose whether or not they are for it because of what repercussions they may face. Gay Rights is a highly controversial topic throughout the world especially in foreign countries (I believe we need to stick with Japan, may seem like we are deviating? Or I could just be acting super annul) Homosexuals are facing devastating persecution in foreign countries in today's society. (Foreign countries replace with Japan. In today's society should be moot as our paper is current unless specifying or referencing a specific date and the reader should know that from our date of publications/turn in date) It is hard for them to even go out in public. (Why? This is a great space for using an example in Japan for the opinionated statement.) They are forced to hide their personal lifestyle. (Why & How) Because of the dangers people can encounter (What dangers?), it has influenced people to not show their true feeling about Gay Rights. This in return puts people on the sidelines, which allow them to not participate and voice their opinions.

Gay Rights have increasingly had a huge impact on society and broke barriers that would have otherwise caused persecution, but the fight for equality is not over. Gay Rights' activists and advocates still face persecution, especially in other countries. (Why?)Equality is an important issue in society and throughout the world. Death seems to be a result when society and the world refuse to acknowledge and embrace the need for equality no matter, skin, color, nationality, ethnicity, and personal lifestyle. (Hate crimes and violence are a result when society or a group of individuals feel passionately about gay rights for or against, why death? Could use an example here to back your statement) Thus, it is important for the people to be involved in gay rights in Japan. I altered just a bit to sound more completed.
