Job Title: Coordinator of Janitorial Services

1. Basic Functions and Scope of Job:

Supervise work activities of janitorial personnel while performing everyday custodial duties in a commercial establishment.

2. Work Performed:

Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding janitorial services and take corrective action. (once a day)

purchase janitorial supplies and equipment. ( on need bases)

Janitorial responsibilities include basic cleaning: sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture and cleaning glass. They may also be required to clean chimneys and laboratory equipment.(every day)

May include minor to major repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.(once a week)

May be responsible for locking doors and ensuring the building is free of any hazards.(every day)

Records personnel data on specified forms(every day)

Recommends personnel actions, such as hires and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.(once a month)

3. Work Contacts: The extent to which the position requires the ability to gain cooperation, persuade and influence other people. Indicate the level, frequency, difficulty and importance of work contacts.
