Research Process Paper

The research problem presented in this data set revolves around the different factors that go into determining the meaning of the data. This data set is extensive and evaluates many variables that form earners and wage information. The research problem is to determine the possible differences underlying wage differences in households. This is very important because it will give a better understanding of possible market to companies based on how the income is determined. Being able to evaluate which sectors of the community based on location, gender and the relation of these factors to income allows companies to make more educated marketing decision. Targeted marketing can often allow a company to use the money they need to invest in their marketing strategy in a smarter way by being able to accurately identify the households with buying power.

In this week the learning team was assigned the wages and data earnings set. Let's start off by exploring and define what this is a simple and complete definition of wages can be found in the Webster dictionary as a payment usually of money for labor or services usually according to contract and on an hourly, daily, or piecework basis ( Merriam-Webster, Incorporated , 2011). Also I will define for my reader what a data earnings set which is a summary of percentages and stats about a certain company. By view in this data set we see that out of 100 percent of people pooled is a percentage of each person's individual annual wage in dollars is presented to us in the first column. And also we can see what kind of industry each one of these people are categorized into one being manufacturing two being construction and three is other industries. In the next column that is presented to us is what kind of occupation each person has been filed in whether they be in management or sales, clerical, service five is professional and a zero in this column means that they have a different occupation all together. In the fourth column that is presented to us we see that these 100 people how many of them have what numerical years set forth in their education, and by viewing this we see that it starts at 4 years and goes up into well over 10 years by the top people having 18 years of education. In the fifth column that is presented to the viewers of this data we see whether these people are a southern resident or a non-southern resident. In the next column following this we can see the race of the person that was pulled for these data sets by wheatear they are black or white, and in a separate column to follow this we see how many of these people are also Hispanic. Also by reviewing this data set we see that 27 of these 100 people are females, and the majority of these that are included in the set are that of 73 men. In the next column that is presented to us in the 9th column we find out how many years of work they have experience in this company, and to follow this we also know wheatear these people are married or not married. In the next to last column we see the age of these people are involved in this data set by viewing this data set we see that the youngest person is 18 and the oldest person that is partaking in this data set is 64 years of age. The 18 year old member of this data set is not married and is a male. And the 64 year old person that is involved in this data set is married but is still not a female this may be one issue that can be addressed because it shows that this company may not show that they hire and poll these data sets from younger females that may be married or single or that is company does not show that females in this data set may not be at the top of the age group to show how well this company has experience of having a happy median of men and women working in this data set under this company.
