The company's 28 years of experience and operation is a major source of strength to the business. Most of the experience might have come from their participation in food shows in New York City and San Francisco. (Hardenne, 2012)

Mission

"We continue to serve you with a collection of the finest ingredients from around the world and our time consuming, hand making process utilizing the old methods of chocolate-making, as developed over generations in Belgium." (Harden & Huyse Chocolates)

From the above mission statement, some of their raw materials come from around the world. Their suppliers supply them with "finest ingredients" from around the world which is another source of strength to the business.

Objectives

One of their objectives is to always impress their customers. (Harden & Huyse Chocolates) The customers are a major source of strength to their business. In order to make them come for more, the company has to impress them in terms of the quality of chocolate it sells to them.

Another objective is to share the pleasure of chocolate. (Harden & Huyse Chocolates) This means sharing the taste of chocolate with family, friends, and neighbours. This may be achieved through market intermediaries. One weakness of the business is the fact that they have just a few intermediaries due to their past experience with retailers. According to Claude Hardenne, the chocolate boxes were sometimes dusty and people perceived them to be of low quality as a result. (Hardenne, 2012)
