A. Macro

  1. Quantum cannot just get rid of their beer busts, as it is a part of their developed corporate culture.
  2. Many Quantum employees look forward to these weekly beer busts as a way to unwind after long and productive weeks.
  3. As Quantum continues to grow as a larger company, these weekly beer busts will begin to get out of control with many new employees.
  4. The consumption of alcohol from irresponsible employees can create liability issues for the company itself.
  5. Quantum must find another way to change its weekly beer busts, without having its employees lose an incentive or their motivation throughout the week.

B. Micro

  1. Bill is the only person who sees the problem between irresponsible employees and liability issues.
  2. Stan does not understand the seriousness of his employees drinking alcohol and seems to not be open to other ideas for his employees.
  3. Stan and Erin seem more interested in keeping the corporate culture alive than the safety of their employees.
  4. The employees might need alternatives of motivation at the end of the week, especially if Bill sees the liability issues.
  5. John is an example of how future employees might handle their alcohol as Quantum continues to grow.

  1. Understanding the pivotal norms of the company, as well as the peripheral norms.
  2. As the company grows, many new employees will have different views on the company’s socialization habits.

  1. Stan and Eric could move their weekly beer busts to something more costly and have it monthly.
  2. Employees could be limited on their consumption of alcohol.
  3. Stan and Eric could implement a Designated Driver group for those who end up too intoxicated.
  4. Bill could inform on better ways to keep motivation among employees alive without changing too much of the company’s corporate culture.

  1. Recommendations

     . I would recommend that Stan and Eric find another way for employees to relax with or without alcohol with other incentives that would keep motivation alive. Alcohol could be given in moderation and food could be thrown in or a company picnic of some sort as the number of employees begin to increase.
