1. Compare the core models and core competencies of Google, Apple and Facebook.

First of we have Facebook whose business model has been well visualized with the value preposition. When you open Facebook you are given different varieties of offer and you are obliged to take them as your friends are on it as well. Facebook’s business model changed the traditional manufacturing style with the consumer products and they built a consumer platform instead. The enterprises aren’t using Facebook just for the sake of advertising; you can get much valuable information and ideas out from the platform.  Facebook’s core competency is to create friends using a very smart algorithm which suggests people you may know (Silver, 2016). It has tried to create a life album kind of approach with having photos and timeline features.

Next we have Google who has the concept that the future devices that we use should have applications and other options and revenue should be generated from in-app advertisements. The company’s culture for innovation itself can be the core competency. Google owns very few of the core products and based on those core products the company has managed to offer a wide range of end-products.

Apple creates a strong hardware base for the internet future and in this war between all three companies they play their role on the hardware that facilitates the mobile computing. We can assume Apple’s core competency is for elegancy but functional design. By no doubt consumer are at an advantage where they get a product that makes everyone else envious. Other companies might try and steal designs from Apple but Apple is still above charts in the market.

1. Which company and business model do you think is most likely to dominate the Internet, and why?

In this war between the three giants dominating the world of computing, Google has the web; Facebook has its apps and Apple with their iPhones. There was a brief time when Google decided to register the world’s information and the task was done by ease. Also Facebook developing Instagram for their “life album” feature. All three companies have made dominations over the internet from time and again.

 But whatever all three companies might come up with in my point of view the world is now Apple’s. Apple’s stock value has been recorded as $758 billion which is greater than any company we might find in this planet (La Monica , 2018). And still the Wall Street Journal states that the company has its growth still moving forward. By far we can see Apple’s reports are not swelling in the coming period of time and if push comes to shove Apple can still carry on the market with their products such as the iWatch, iPod, iPads and various others. Future predictions for the company can be seen as Apple will pass the trillions in no time and Apple dominating the market no matter what features Google or Facebook might come with.
