Grendel's Point of View

The night painted pitch black, so dark the only light to guide my mother and I was the shiny, silver, sliver of the moon. Sneaking through the tall trees and wilderness, the loud growling of my aching stomach echoed through the darkness. Then a sudden movement was made nearby. My mother moved in front of me, shielding me from any danger. She took one step, and that's when hell broke loose. Flesh covered demons came charging at my mother and I. I started to back away from all of the clashing and banging. When one of Hrothgar's men spotted me,I froze choosing whether to fight with my Mother or to run and save myself. I looked up to my mother watching her be beaten. I felt my blood boiling, rushing through my veins. I ran to my mother's rescue, crashing into one human, you could hear the crushing of his bones. It gave me a feeling of pleasure and power. As I ran towards my mother to free her from these cold hearted monsters she threw her arm in front of me throwing me across the small battlefield nearly drowned in humans blood. I knocked out. As I awoken the next morning I felt a warm, thick liquid run down my fur I felt a harsh blow against my young body. Chained up to a tree like an animal, I was being beaten for pleasure. I cried out for my mother, but she was nowhere to be found. I was a scared, helpless and alone. As the bearded demon took his last lashing towards my body, I felt an uproar of anger and rage. I roared with anger and tore myself free. I grabbed the cold hearted humans and tore them in half sucking the life out of their body, making

sure I leave an example for all the others who decided to hate my kind for no reason, torturing us and also to make them pay for taking my mother.
