Influence

In life many people go through certain situations that can impact an individual’s life greatly. I believe that people are influenced by individuals or situations that will have a lasting effect on their upbringing.

The person who has greatly impacted my life for the better would have to be my father. He has raised me to the young lady that I am today with morals. Ever since I was a little girl, my father has played such a crucial role in my decision-making. I’ve analyzed all the hard-work and sacrifices that my father has made for my siblings and I in order for us to have a better life. Seeing him strive in all that he does has given me the confidence to conquer all that comes my way.

Getting my siblings and I to have a bright future is all my dad wants to accomplish.

He has inspired me to want to go further in life and accomplish many things. His stories about his life and how he came and grew up proved that where you come from doesn’t really matter; it’s all about where you end up in the future. Aside many things, he has also taught me that knowledge is the power to almost everything. However along with that lesson, my father once stated something that will stick with me until I get a high paying job. He once said, “Education today is your paycheck tomorrow,” as a way of telling me that the more education someone receives, the higher his or her paycheck will be.

He used and still uses this saying to motivate me to go out and seek a higher education instead of spending the next twenty-five years of my life flipping burgers at an old restaurant. What my father is trying to do is make me realize the importance of an education. I am happy and blessed that I have a father that cares and worries for my future.

I’ve had many great and inspiring people who have been in my life, but I would have to proudly say that my father is the number one person who has influenced me more than anyone else ever could. Like a famous quote states,”You will never go through life without making a tough decision and it's the tough decision that makes an impact in your life.”
