What's It Worth?

In a post catastrophe life the ability to survive will be a challenge to many people. Difficulties in survival can come from there being scarce food resources, little shelter, and not many families together. In this situation, physical strength alone will not be enough. Personal values will be the base for any continued existence during these circumstances. The intangible assets will make the transition easier, and strengthen chances of survival. The desires that humans have in life, will influence the hard work needed to reach their preferred state. Love will make adapting to changes easier. Religion will also give the sense of protection needed for them to believe they will survive.

The greediness in people can have a downfall, but when referring to survival that can be a great asset. When people have these desires, they feel the need to fulfill them by any means. When being use to eating at the thought of food to now limiting the times of eating to preserve food is hard. With the craving to have food in abundance, will influence a person to hunt longer, gamble, and even steal. These requests would eventually overcome any fears, and enable them to feel a type of invincibility in this new world. Freedom would be available, but options still will be limited. The ability to do individual activities alone will become an easier way to be attacked. Consequences are unbearable and could result in severe injuries or even death. Rights are no longer acknowledged which also depletes boundaries. Goals aren't set for years from now; instead it's all about making another day by any means. The lack of happiness can become a major mental block. The sense of worthiness can be abolished and result in multiple suicides. In a post catastrophe life, families would be separated and some people would have to start completely over. Happiness keeps a person able to differentiate reality from fantasy. When not being able to experience good times, imagination intervenes and can take over the person's mind, sidetracking their progress towards their desires.

Love will create many comfort zones in a new world. If family is still around, this eases the psyche on having to do everything on their own. The carriage of burdens would spread out evenly, and not become overbearing on one. Change will come through love, which is also major in a new environment. The thought of losing someone they care about will alter their customs to accommodate the person. Giving up selfish ways will help them stay together through attacks, injuries, and sharing food. Physical protection will be available, and will endure the struggling times. They can take turns securing their grounds, while the others get rest. Love will also help in sanity, as it will distract the mind from problems. Someone they can discuss their feelings with and get some type of motivation.
