The Australian authorities are a government that had complete power or control. Between 1869 and 1970 the Australian government at that time were completely pitiless and cruel. Children were removed from their families. Thus, they were referred to as the “stolen generation”. The Australian authorities adopted a policy for these so called “Half-caste” children (children of mixed race or ethnicity) who tried to aim to amalgamate children into white society as they feared that the half-caste children would endanger and ruin the White Australian policy. Aboriginal children were stolen from their families, and the horrific abuse they suffered in institutions and foster families left thousands traumatised for life. In this essay I’ll be discussing the impact the Australian government had on these Half-caste children and how these children were treated and affected by this policy. The question remains, to what extent did this policy effect the Half caste children ?iscussion of the impact of the Australian government and the drastic effects it had on the aboriginal people
