How Would I Have Defend Mersault in the Stanger

I would defend Meursault in these few ways.

Firstly, Meursault is a human being with a lack of emotions. Maybe most of the people will get freaked out or think that he is a monster, but he actually isn't. Instead of trying to help him, this society just wants to get rid of him. For example, he loves his mother and care for his girlfriend Marie, but he just doesn't have the strong emotions for them. He doesn't cry on his mother's funeral, he thinks marring another girl will be the same. But people do have different kinds of thinking, if the whole world has the same opinion and view that would be freaky and crazy.

Secondly, everyone has their own choice of religion. Although in my opinion being Christianity is wright, since I am one too. But I still think that people have their choice, in Christianity is about truly believing that he is there by yourself, it is wrong to force someone to believe in something that they haven't seen a miracle of.

Thirdly, Meursault could be thinking that killing the Arab to defend himself. It is not like the Arab didn't do anything and got killed. The Arab was holding out a knife, it could of affect Meursault and makes him scared, since they just stabbed his own friend, plus the sunlight was so strong, it will reflect on the knife in to Meursault's eyes, making him strongly recognize the knife, and making it closer. If it was me I probably shot the Arab too, because I would be so scared that the Arab would just run over and stab me.

I think Meursault is just a guy who has a different thought of life, not caring about the life around him, keeps him bond to it. But the other people were just freaked out, and wouldn't see this situation of Meursault in another way, or in his point of view, they would only use their own point of view to judge Meursault, that he is selfish, and a monster, with no humanity. Just because he is a new kind of person that they didn't think would appear in their society.
