307 million people are estimated to be living in America, and out of that, majority of the population are either immigrants or descendants of immigrants. Although we are all immigrants, it still shocks me at the fact that we still have concerns about the presence of immigrants being in America. Philippe Legrain, a Journalist, economist, and author of Immigrants: Your Country Needs Them and Open World: The Truth about Globalization, states that "immigration contributes to a better America as well as a better world". Numerous Americans are now making the argument that immigration is partly responsible for the scarcity of jobs and benefits they are receiving since we are dealing with a horrible economy. Most of the immigrants to the United States are here looking for protection from their third world country home that is often involved in war, deals with famine, and poverty. These immigrants are basically just in search of the same American dream that the rest of the citizens of this country take for granted. Would it be reasonable to say, that the immigrants who are here illegally working do not deserve a chance to live free and not under oppression or would they create more of a problem to an already terribly hurt economy? This land was based upon principles of freedom and liberty for all. It clearly states in the Constitution, that all men are created equal and have the right to pursue their own goals and aspirations. However, this does not happen to be the case. Since in actuality, America wants to extinguish the ones who made this country.

Personally, I believe that immigrants make America more suitable. Immigrants often come to America in search of low paying jobs that are considered undesirable by the average American. As americans living lives better than others in different countries, we sometimes take for granted the delicacies we have as americans. Many Americans should stop and think to themselves, what if immigrant workers who maintain the landscape in their neighborhood just stopped showing up because they have been deported or a new law was created that will not allow them to obtain legal citizenship? What would we do as americans then? Majority of Americans have been spoiled with the use of immigrant workers taking up most of the tough labor jobs, but if they are not in existence in America anymore, that leaves us to fend for ourselves. Many of Americans would probably agree that they would just pick up the slack and start taking care of their own small labor duties, but how do they know that they will have the time in their life to fit those extra tasks into their schedule? It is clearly unknown on the total effect on what the loss of immigrants would do to the American way of living, but let's just say that it will not be something positive.

Many immigrants are either employed to handle landscaping jobs, small house fixings, or basically anything that has to deal with hard
