Abortion

Killing a fetus, should be illegal in all places. This act is otherwise known as abortion. A fetus, a developing child in the womb, is a human that has multiple characteristics of life. Abortion in the world, [in accordance with the law is considered among the safest procedures. Over one million abortions are to be performed every year. However, over one half of these are unsafe, causing harm to the mother. There should be a law banning abortion.

Abortion is an option to all women who are pregnant between six and twenty-four weeks. No person should have the right to kill a fetus. Killing a fetus is the exact same as murdering someone, no matter how the situation is looked upon. Many people believe that it is okay to kill a developing child, but wrong to kill any other human being. Some people have abortions because they say "I don't want a nanny bringing up our baby." Also they don't want to go through the process of putting their child up for adoption. However, children receive the right to live and pursue their dreams if they are adopted and not aborted. This having been said, adoption is a better option than aborting. In many ways, abortion can be compared to something as tragic as the Holocaust.

During the Holocaust, people were tortured and brutally murdered. Many, if not all, of these were innocent normal people. The same can be said about abortion. Every day, the silent horror, abortion, kills more than 4,000 innocent children. The fetus is completely innocent, yet mothers are going to clinics to get their children aborted. These children could have potential if they were given the chance [to live]. The same can be said about all of the people killed during the holocaust; they would have had an opportunity to live a great life. Abortion can also be compared to the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001, taking many American lives.

Every day, the horror of abortion kills more babies than the amount of Americans who were killed on September 11, 2001. There have been more than 50 million babies that were slaughtered since the beginning of Roe vs. Wade, a 1973 abortion court case. Americans are so worried about the population growth that they have little regard for human life. If population growth is such a problem, then why are we taking the lives of innocent children, and not taking the lives of ruthless criminals, or others who have lived their lives to the fullest? This question is asked by many, but what is the real answer? The aborting of a healthy and normal fetus should not be permitted, and our population should not be based off of killing innocent children. Also it would not be right to kill other people just because they did one thing wrong, or because they have lived a longer and more fulfilled life. Either way, abortion should be abolished in order to save the lives of innocent children who deserve the right to life.
