Balance scorecard vs Vertical Alignment Chart;

Strength.

The balance scorecard when you put to use will clearly show the company's goals by presenting it in form of a simple chart, which can be easily to inform managers. Also, its can be visualized, expressing how different goals are connected with one another. This has helped to improve communication and understanding of the entirety of our company's business goals and its strategy. We have used the BSC to fast track and improve our processes.

The Vertical Alignment Chart is easier to use, its explains how outcome cascades upward and its implementation is more realistic and analytical in its outcome too. It shows you steps by steps on not just the process but also the potential outcome of your process.

Weakness.

Balance Scorecard; It is tends to shy away from the realistic results of potential bad outcomes (as some measures can not be quantified). Because of it cyclic nature, it becomes a routine process. In considering the four areas of business development, it information is not complete to present you with the real picture of your outcome.

Vertical Alignment Chart; It has failed to address the "TIME" factor for results. If not properly stated it could be misunderstood.

Overall,

The two (Balance Scorecard and Vertical Alignment Chart) will work fine for us, I will put the vertical alignment chart to work to see how best it suits and work for me. The vertical looks convenient to plot.
