College Means

Growing up as a child was challenging especially if I grew up with disabilities and things that I could not control. I have hearing loss in my right ear and was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis. I had surgery at the age of fourteen and recovered. Dealing with these scars scarred me for life. This built much insecurity for me but I am happy I am getting through these obstacles.

I am now a lot stronger and just because permanent scars are there is no excuse to limit myself. I will and still can do a lot of things as long as I apply myself I know I cannot do this alone. I have a few great friends and family members that have helped me along the way. I am very grateful and know that I will overcome any obstacles that will come my way. I am an achiever and will graduate college and have a career.

My experience makes me different from others because not only they cannot be me, they also are not telling my story. I am different from others because I have no problem with my flaws. I am still standing and living to tell my story and that is all that matters. People live everyday with disabilities and heart breaking stories and I don't want my essay to be a sad story or no one to feel bad for me. I just want the world to know that I am still able.

I am still growing but for eighteen years of my life, my life has been a quiet an experience. It all happened so fast. Seems like just yesterday I was just two and now I am about to graduate. The decision has to be made and I am one hundred percent sure about a four year college experience.

I cannot wait to start college. There are so many opportunities for me. Even though I am undecided about my major I know what I like. I love to debate. I have my ways with words and I am sociable and expressive. I love music and photography. I have my heart set on success and I have the ability to succeed and college is my ticket to success.
