Throughout our lives, we are faced by an abundance of influences that shape who we become. In my life, two of these influences were becoming involved in the world of music and my parents' divorce. Both of these factors played a key role in my personal development and shaped the person that I am today. Also, my past influences tie into my performance as a team member and the goals that I set for myself. My past experiences have shaped me by allowing me to learn and grow into the person that I am today.

My introduction into the world of music has played an immensely influential role on the person that I am today. Throughout high school my taste for music gradually grew, leading me to become more involved in it. During my junior year of high school, I began to teach myself how to play the piano and flirted with the idea of singing. Senior year, however, was where it all came together; my friends and I decided to form a band. In this band, I took the role of singer and piano player, which was a big step for me. Since then, my musical abilities have continued to grow in unison with my love for the art.

Realizing my potential as a singer and piano player helped me to better understand myself on a deeper level. By taking on the lead role in my band, I threw myself into an environment that I was not comfortable in. Taking this risk allowed me to grow in the fact that I became more outgoing, confident, motivated, and have been able to express my feelings to a greater degree. According to my MBTI, I am more associated with the categories of extroversion and perceiving. My alignment as an extrovert can be explained through my experiences as the lead singer of my band. By putting myself on stage and singing in front of people, I was able to become more confident and outgoing. This confidence allowed me to become more comfortable in social situations and my ability to meet people, as well as my willingness to take part in new and spontaneous ventures.
