The ideal professor has many different techniques. Mark Edmundson is a professor of English at the University of Virginia. Edmundson states "I don't teach to amuse, to divert, or even, for that matter, to be merely interesting". Most teachers that are currently teaching use those boring traditional ways. As a current student enrolled in college I find learning to be more entertaining and useful when its more hands on instead of just reading straight out of the book or sitting in class and only taking notes during a very long lecture. I believe that more teachers should use more modern techniques likes internet and videos. Videos can be a great tool for learning because our generation is more visual. Teachers are one who cares for their students and is always trying to help. My ideal teacher should be a scholar. They must have the knowledge of the subject that they teach in the class. They should teach the subjects in an interesting way, they should be able to make the students really interested in their subject. Ideal teacher should explain lessons well, should have a good voice and must have love for teaching. The students should feel that their minds are growing under their teaching. An ideal teacher deals with the subject well, their subjects are interesting too and not boring. An ideal teacher should consider himself as a parent to his students. Every student should be looked after with affection and care. Ideal teacher's pay attention to a not so smart student just as much as they do to a bright student. Ideal teachers join their students in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as well. They play with them, sing with them and are always friendly. The students consider an ideal teacher a friend, philosopher and guide. Teaching can be very beneficial because it can help a student become more successful in life and have a better future. Most students who have a teacher that can really teach them may become more successful in life because they can actually retain the information that they have learned. Teaching is a professional job that requires the technical knowledge of teaching. Ideal teachers are well trained for their job and are understanding to a student who learns at a slower pace than other students. Some teachers don't take their job as serious as they should and they just pass students along with the rest of the class knowing that they didn't receive the information as well and aren't ready to be promoted to the next grade level. Teachers should always know a lot about their students so that they can connect and be more helpful of the situation that their student is in so that the learning environment can be more stable and better learning environment for the other students in the class. A good teacher should
