Character Evaluation

The Twilight Saga has some really interesting characters in the books and movies. I am a huge fan and I have chosen the forbidden Edward Cullen to perform a character evaluation on. During these films you will notice how Edward seems extremely introverted for many different reasons. One of the main reasons is that he is from a family of respected vampires who are living amongst the humans in hiding. The entire family tries to keep to themselves as to avoid any speculation from town's people. During the first movie Edward finds himself drawn to a Bella Swan. He tries his hardest to avoid her and keep his introverted personality intact.

As he interacts more with Bella he tries to keep his lifestyle hidden and Bella is always wondering and questioning things about him. He has an aloof personality and that is another trigger for Bella that sets her off on her mission to understand the mysterious Edward Cullen.

Comparing Edward to the five trait clusters starting with openness to experience. Within this movie you will Edward come out of his safety shell for Bella. He has never been so drawn to a person before and for this reason he is open to try anything to be with her.

Edward is very conscientious of who he is and what he is capable of doing. He has the will power to restrain himself during the school hours and act completely different from the typical vampire. He only hunts animals as he knows the consequences if he were to hunt humans.

The Cullen's are not so really people people. They stick to their own group and really the parents are the only ones who will socialize outside that group as their professions require them to but otherwise they are all pretty kept to themselves.

Edward is a pretty easy going character he usually does what is needed to get by until he meets Bella of course. Then his whole life changes and you can see the overprotective caring side of him shine. Being that he is suppose to technically be 117 years old his demeanor is very soothing and his persona towards Bella shows just that. He has old world charm in him and that is displayed in all that he does.

Being the predator that he is and also being territorial in nature if you cross the line once with him it is the end of the story. During the film the family is out playing a leisurely game of baseball. Everyone was enjoying the afternoon until uninvited guest came in and threatened to harm Bella this happy family quickly turned unhappy and defensive.

This character provided perfect examples of all five character clusters and was an enjoyable film to watch it would be easy to evaluate many of the cast members from this film as many of the main characters are all the same in personality.
