A while ago, smoking cigarettes were considered sexy, cool, and popular, an ok thing to do, a large amount of people smoked because of that. You would mostly always see people in movies with a cigarette in their hand; they were advertised a lot by sport man TV stars Hollywood stars etc. Now days the point view of the world towards cigarettes has changed a lot. Today it is considered an addictive drug that can kill you and that in most cases does; it harms others around you as well. You won't find them advertised as they used to; you also don't see anyone smoking in public places. When consumed it gives the sense of being relaxed, non stressed, but when suddenly stopped they experience withdrawal symptoms, which may include cravings, a sense of emptiness, anxiety, depression, moodiness, irritability, and inattentiveness, according to an article published by the medical news today. The American Heart Association says that nicotine (from smoking tobacco) is one of the hardest substances to quit - at least as hard as heroin. Also according to medical news today in an article that was published "nicotine is a nitrogen-containing chemical - an alkaloid, which is made by several types of plants, including the tobacco plant.
