Global Warming

Global warming can be described as the rising average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans and its projected continuation. Global warming is indeed a huge problem that the world faces. "Warnings from the scientific community are becoming louder, as an increasing body of science points to rising dangers from the ongoing buildup of human-related greenhouse gases, produced mainly by the burning of fossil fuels and forests". (New Yourk Tmes Website). Global warming presents several ecological problems. For one, Global warming is currently affecting many parts of the world. It makes the sea rise, and when the sea rises, the water covers many low land islands. This proves to be a big problem for many of the plants, animals, and people on islands. The water covers the plants and causes some of them to die. When they die, the animals lose a source of food, along with their habitats. Although animals have a better ability to adapt to this process than plants do, they may also die. When the plants and animals die, people lose two sources of food, plant food and animal food. They may also lose their homes.

According to a 2009 article , Environmentalists Carole Hunt and Sally Wortmann created a group that will follow the "Low Carbon Diet" by David Gershon, which is an accessible workbook that will show, step-by-step, how to reduce the "carbon footprint" of the household. (Be part of the global Warming Solution!, 2009) This is one group's way of attempting to health the issue of ending global warming. There are also other solutions being created to help the issue. The government is doing many things to help stop global warming. The government made a law called The Clean Air Act so there is less air pollution. There are many possible solutions, including improvements to energy efficiency and vehicle fuel economy, so less energy has to be produced); and increases in wind and solar power, hydrogen produced from renewable sources, biofuels, natural gas, and nuclear power. If we work on these possible solutions it may put on the road to having a more stable climate.
