Nowadays, there is a number of people believe that single-sex schools can lead to academic success by creating comfortable environment of health and well-being. On the other hand, others argue that the schools couldn’t offer many benefits, and it is no need for students to experience this life. It is up to the parents or the children to decide which model should be considered to take.

Some educationalists think it is more effective to educate children in single-sex schools because they are convince of that this environment reduces distractions and promotes pupils to focus on their studies. In some degree, it probably is true. It also, to some extent, encourages girls have more courage to choose their way freely. It means that when girls study in mixed schools, compared with prejudice, boys’ strength and determined choices, they will not easy to choose some subjects freely, but they can pick those subjects without burden in single-sex schools. Similarly, boys will be more likely to choose cookery as subject, which are often regarded as girl’s own field in the past if they are studying in those schools.

On the other hand, opponents explain their view that mixed schools obviously have deeper effects on pupils in their future lives, which prepare them for contacting with the opposite sex well. Children in mixed schools learn and work together in early period consequently will develop better ability to stay with the opposite sex. They are also able to learn from each other, and to experience different types of skill and talent than might be evident in a single gender environment.

In my opinion, I think the two systems both have several advantages. It seems that single-sex schools could contribute to equality of bender, and mixed schools inspire students to adapt to future lives. Which is the better one can be decided by every parents and children by thinking their wishes twice.
