My job responsibilities as an Executive at Honda are to specify market requirements of materials or parts after conducting market research and after conducting several parts performance testing.

My job responsibilities as an Executive at Honda R&D are to specify market requirements of materials or parts after conducting market research and after conducting several parts performance testing. I work along with a team of 2 Japanese and 3 Indians in Material Development team. If I explain my work flow as of now, I develop cost cutting or Value Addition ideas by developing new supplier or new material to maximize profit for Honda. So we propose a new value addition idea by doing competitor study and market study. So after studying the feasibility of the idea with discussing with other departments of Honda and current supplier, we finalize the schedule plan for the development. We make prototype development with several suppliers based on their cost benefit and quality. In the mean time we do Quality Assurance Visit to the all suppliers and give them some quality improvement suggestions to meet Honda Quality Standard. We make the mass production part with all suppliers with the actual mass production condition and do performance testing of the same parts using UTM, TG-DTA, Hot and Cold Chamber etc. at Honda as per Honda Specification Standard and judge whether part is OK or NG. If it is NG we along with suppliers do root cause analysis and do counter measure to meet the spec.

So from this job I learnt to work in a large team having same goal of making car at the end. At the same time as a person from R&D, I lead the whole team of Purchase, Pain Department, Quality Development, Production Control, and Suppliers etc. to convert our prototype ideas into actual mass production. So from this I learnt to manage large members (30 to 40 different department members) to complete the project smoothly without any delay. I learnt doing performance testing using different equipments, UTM, Hot and Cold chamber, TG-DTA etc.

I recently lead a project to develop pearl white color to Honda India which can earn profit of 20 crores to Honda in a year. As it is new development for India from R&D I along with my Japanese associate lead the project. In this I managed a team of 30 to 40 members who are well experienced than me in their particular domains in Honda Plant. I have continuously performed trails at supplier location to achieve the same appearance on actual car as on prototype. I continuously coordinated several status meetings to fill the gap between several departments to meet the target deadline. I managed to present the proposal report to Honda President to get the grant of buying several cars to do the Paint trial by showcasing the profit and loss study of the project and Breakeven time. We managed to purchase the Honda Amaze & Honda CR-V to do the paint trial and performed the trail successfully and achieved the target appearance of Pearl white. At last I managed to complete the project in time and now handed over to the plant side to get into mass production by supporting from the back end.
