Six Problem Solving Steps, with relevance.

1) Identifying the problem is important to creating a solution, you can knowledge fully fix a problem you are not aware of. The problem can be identified as the company requiring age verification for its customers to protect against lawsuits.

2) Understanding the issue simply requires looking at the problem at hand and researching possible solutions created with an algorithm. The problem is simple the company wants to prevent possible lawsuits due to under age customers.

3) There are many methods of solution and finding as many possibilities as you are able to produce is vital in creating a strong solution. Drivers License input, Age input, and a credit card input are possible solutions.

4) Choose the best method for the solution that fits all needs to the problem is extremely important for simplification and ease purposes. Age Verification is the simplest method for this problem and the best choice for our solution.

5) List the steps and instructions for the problem for the algorithm to the code for the project you are creating. Create modules for brainstorming, and then list the instructions. Receive input, calculate input, compare input, display results of process, and finally end process.

6) Evaluate the solution you have created to see if it fits the problem at hand. Testing and demonstrating the results is an easy way to do this. Due to credit cards requiring a transaction to prove authenticity and drivers licenses being issued to persons under the age of eighteen, age verification is the best method for this problem and is demonstrated by the ease of application.

Summarization of assignment

I addressed all six problem solving steps. I accomplished by first listing the steps required to solve the problem. After listing I am able to follow through all six steps of the problem solving method individually and effectively. After going through each step on by one I can then proceed to the next part of the solution.

By developing a PAC (Problem Analysis Chart) and an IPO (Input-Processing-Output Chart) I am able to create an outline for the pseudocode and algorithm base. Without going through these methods the development of the program would be a lot sloppier and less efficient.

Finally to complete my problem solving steps, I created a pseudocode and flowchart to demonstrate how the program should be outlined to function correctly. Without doing such I would not be able to begin development of the program with such ease and functionality. It is vital for the problem solving method to go through the steps, brain storm, then prepare charts and outlines for the program, and finally create pseudocodes and flowcharts. I feel personally that all these aspects are a part of the problem solving process extended beyond the main six steps of creating
