A Wrinkle in Time is the story of the adventure Meg Murry, Meg's brother Charles Wallace, and Calvin O'Keefe, a well-known athlete at Meg's high school travel in time and space. Because of this, they create a wrinkle in time, or a tesseract. Meg Murry is an poor student at school, but an astute girl at math, but she is concerned for her father who has been missing for more than a year.

The science-fiction adventure begins when Mrs. Whatsit arrives at the Murry's house. Charles Wallace admits that he went inside the house Mrs. Whatsit resides in with her three friends, which has been vacant for a long time and is claimed to be haunted. Meg doubts Mrs. Whatsit, which Mrs. Whatsit knew because she is able to read Meg's thoughts. Mrs. Murry helps Mrs. Whatsit take her boots out so Mrs. Whatsit can take the water out, and after that she says that there is such a thing as a wrinkle in time, which stunned Mrs. Murry.

The next day, after school Charles Wallace and Meg walk over to Mrs. Whatsit's and encounter Calvin O' Keefe, a popular boy at Meg's school. He goes along with them, and they meet Mrs. Who, knitting. She spoke with quotes, because it was hard for her to speak without it. The three return to the Murry's house, and after dinner, Calvin takes Meg out the backyard for a walk. Charles Wallace suddenly appears and says that it's time to find Mr. Murry. Mrs. Who appears, and so does Mrs. Whatsit. However, Mrs. Which does not appear due to the fact that it takes a very long time.

Abruptly, Meg is separated from Charles Wallace and Calvin, who was holding her hand into silence and darkness. Meg couldn't breathe at all. A minute later, or more like years later on another planet, she was flying on Mrs. Whatsit, who was a centaur-like creature. Mrs. Whatsit leads them on a beautiful planet that looked similar to a paradise. Mrs. Whatsit explains that this is her planet, Uriel, and also the fifth dimension. As they go tessering later on, they see a shadow, which has been called the Black Thing.

After that, in the story, the three ladies drop Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin on a planet called Camazotz. The ladies instruct the three to stay together. Mrs. Who gives Meg her glasses, and all the three women leave. Meg, Charles Wallace, Calvin 0n the strange planet of Camazotz. Meg perceived that the town looked similar to Earth as a result of children running around and playing with their balls. On the contrary, the children bounced the ball in the same rhythm, and t=all the houses were the same size, shape and color.

One boy dropped his ball, when his mother darted to get him in the house. When Calvin returned the ball to the kid, the mother was horrified, due to the fact that none of the children were supposed to. After returning the ball, the three confront a newspaper boy who tells them about the CENTRAL Central Intelligence building. They decide to go in the building, which they found due to the massive size of the building. Nonetheless, Calvin wants to go alone inside, because he thinks it will be too dangerous for Meg and Charles Wallace. The result is that they all go in together, and they enter a room with the help of a man.

Inside the room, there was a man with bright glowing red eyes, who told the three, "I've been waiting for you. " He says in a cold voice. Charles Wallace yells "Don't look at his eyes. Don't look at his eyes. He'll hypnotize you." Although Charles Wallace had just said that, he started staring at the man's eyes, and after a minute or so, his eyes started swirling. Meg she pushed him, but Charles Wallace explained to Meg that he had to do this for Mr. Murry, in order to find him. The man fed them food, which Meg and Calvin fancied eating, but Charles Wallace said it tasted just like sand. " Why?" Charles Wallace said. The man replied," You shut your mind entirely to me. The other two can't." After that, Charles Wallace stared at the man's eyes again, and again, his pupils were gone.

Charles Wallace questioned Meg, "What happened, Meg? Why are you being so belligerent and uncooperative?" Meg realizing this was not her brother, screamed, for the Charles that stood in front of her now, eating the food hungrily, was a part of IT. Now I understand, that you still don't know what IT is. But try to keep your curiosity waiting, because now Charles Wallace told Meg that the three women were actually the enemies,
