Family Love

Open the gate of memory, all of joys and sorrows come to my mind. Life is just a splendid drama. At cross road, people have to make a choice. Some people may make a right choice; some people may regret what they have done.

It was about 10 years ago. Heavy and dark cloud covered sky that seemed it would have a big storm coming in a second. I quickly went home. My father was at home. When I got there, he already had my favorite roast duck noodle soup on the table. After I gave him a big hug, I went straight to gulp my tasty noodle soup.

My father sat beside me. When I ate half of my noodle soup, he spoke up slowly, "I have a very important thing I need to discuss with you."

I asked with my mouth full, "What is that?"

He continued, "it is not good news for you."

I stopped my eating, and stared at my father curiously. I saw my father had a weighty matter on his mind. He showed his pitying gaze on me. I wondered what it was. I was impatient and asked him to tell me.

My farther said sadly, "Your mother and I want to run a small restaurant business, but we need your help. We can not do it without your helping?"

"Of course, I can help. I support my family." I said quite sure. I thought I always helped my family which was part of my duty. I did not ask farther more, so I kept eating my noodle soup.

"What?" I was shocked. "What did you say?" I could not believe what I heard. He always encouraged me to go to college and to seek for my bright future. However, this time was totally opposite. Was there something wrong with him? He looked upset today with his dark shirt on. I realized I had not seen his smiley face today. He was always optimistic.

I was mad. "What's wrong with that I cannot continue my education when we have a family business? I can come to help whenever I have free time."

His dark and melancholy eyes showed me that he did not know what to do. Then, his sighed, "The business place is far away from your college. I am sorry to do this decision to you." He tried to finish his words, but he did not go on. He knew what I felt at this moment. I was so disappoint in him. All of my hard work s would be useless. When I wondered I would not go to college with my best friends, and the attainment of my ambitions would be a dream, I yelled wrathfully at him, "Your business is nothing to do with me." And then I ran out of apartment.

It was just starting to rain;
