Political- Since L'Oreal is a multi-national corporation; the laws, rules, legislation and business practices vary from country to country. The company must follow the countries guidelines and learn how to adapt to various government laws in order for it to be favorable for the company. Economical- Since cosmetics are considered to be a luxury good, during the times of a dismal economy, L'Oreal may see a lack of consumer demand in their product, therefore they may have to look onto the countries government plans and policies implemented to life the economy out of recession. Social-Pressure groups could cause a problem for L'Oreal. They may argue that only celebrities are used for advertisements, thus, it cannot relate to ordinary woman in society. They could argue that L'Oreal is setting a beauty stereotype in society, and tat their approach to beauty is wrong. Discrimination lawsuits for hiring one specific race for spokes models could rise. Technological-In order for the products to not become obsolete quickly, advancement of production methods have to be quickly changed. Business operates in a world of rapid technological change, and L'Oreal needs to frequently keep up with the changes, in order to keep their market position in the consumer's minds.

Ethics:

L'Oreal's strategy for leadership is based on continuous investment in rigorous scientific research and development. This enables to deliver products, which are innovative, highly effective, practical and pleasant to use, and which are manufactured to the most demanding standards of quality and safety.

As an employer:

Employees are great assets. Personal talent and merit are recognized, diversity is valued, and privacy is respected.

Recruitment:

The group has established multiple partnerships in France, in the USA, Latin America and in South Africa with several Universities, associations and recruitment agencies involved in diversity. These partnerships enable L'Oreal to gain access to various candidates of different backgrounds.
