  • Hardly see each other because we all have opposite schedules
  • Little interaction between Jake and I because he is hardly home
  • The most that is said is when we see one another coming home being a simple “hey what’s up” but nothing more
  • Throughout the day, little to a lot of communication occurs between Jacob and I
  • Our schedules are opposite: I am home at night while he’s at work, he’s at home during the day while I’m at school
  • When we’re both home, we talk a lot pretty much about anything that comes to mind, whether it’s a in friendly way or not
  1. Interaction with Friends
  • I talk to my friends from home everyday through texting
  • We usually talk about pointless things we saw on the internet or what we did that day
  • We discussed plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas to try to work around all of our different schedules to see when we will all be home
  1. Interaction with Significant Other
  • My significant other is also one of my roommates – Jacob
  • This week in particular we’ve been arguing a lot about little things because we’re angry at each other about a much larger issue
  • One argument that occurred was about doing the dishes
  • Jake and I always wash our dishes immediately after we use them, but Jacob does not. Instead, he leaves them in the sink after he’s done, sometimes just leaving them in the living room or near the sink. When he does leave them in the sink he does not rinse them either, which he knows is a pet peeve of mine. I always ask him that if he’s not going to do his dishes right away, at least rinse them. The sink was full of dishes and I had asked him in the morning to do them because they were all his and it was getting out of control. The next day they’re still sitting there untouched, so I of course was angry and we got into an argument. I complained how this happens all the time and I always end up doing them because I don’t like to look at them, and that this time I wasn’t going to. I urged that he needed to do them now because there was no room for any of us to even do our dishes if we wanted. He argued that he could do whatever he wants and that I complain too much and that he was planning on doing them but just hadn’t had the time. I argued how he had the time seeing as he only worked 4 hours each day and was at home for the rest of the time watching TV. The argument continued back and forth for at least an hour, moving to other subjects such as laundry, taking care of the cat, to things we argued about months prior.
  • Arguments such as the one above occurred multiple times a day. When we weren’t arguing, we were silent and avoided each other.
