AUTOMOBILES YES OR NO

With automobiles averaging two per household in the USA, it is often discussed the good and bad effect it has on people and the environment.

They gives us flexibility to travel vast distances in a short amount of time. Automobiles have redefined the concept of Independence and mobility for millions of people. Personal independence derived from having a car means people can go shopping, work and other places whenever and at anytime they want.

Once you have a car, you can travel anywhere, you can escape your immediate confines and travel hundreds of miles in any direction you wish, that's a simple and positive pro, you can transport things, you can help people, you can get jobs where cars are necessary.

The automobile does have their drawbacks. Research shows that car crashes are the leading cause of teenage deaths in USA. They also are responsible for tons of co2 being pumped into our atmosphere each day.

They cost money. Road tax, spare parts, petrol and I've never met anyone whose car was actually running perfectly, there's always a noise or this or that, which is not quite right. They also devalue the moment you get them, so selling the car is always going to be at a loss. You are also less likely to walk to places and get fresh air and exercise if you have a car.

We have found that the automobile plays a very important role in our day to day life's. It gives us our independences, mobility and our ability to travel when and where we want at any given time. At the same time the automobile is very expensive to own and to maintain. The amount of pollution it produces is harmful to the environment and to our health. Bottom Line Automobile YES or NO? You decide.
