The following tables show the qualitative data which were gathered using the analytical balance. The first table shows the obtained weight of different particulars. The assigned mixture B, watch glass, beaker and filter paper were all weighed beforehand, while the watch glass + sublimated, beaker + salt and filter paper + sand were weighed after the whole experiment was done. On the second table, it also shows the weight of the mixture, C10H8, salt and sand with the % by weight. The percentage by weight or the percentage yield is obtained by dividing the weight of yield by the weight of the sample. The weight of yield is the weight of the different substances, while the sample is the mixture assigned to the group. The % by weight of the c10h8, salt and sand were calculated.

The assigned mixture to the group was mixture B and it can be classified as a heterogeneous mixture. In a heterogeneous mixture, the individual substances remain essentially the same as they were before being mixed. The mixture given contained c10h8,salt and sand which can be identified by just merely looking at the mixture, hence it is heterogeneous.
