TITLE: What Really Matters? Body Image and Media: Nurturing Self-Acceptance

As a Student, , this seminar really helps me to gain new knowledge about how I should take care and respect my Body Image. A lot of youth nowadays are not in-lined with the ways that their parents wants them to be and choosing let their selves pushed through the influence of the society and peers.

This seminar thought me on how to take care of myself and accepting the fact that this is the “me” that God created. I should have to love and respect everything that is given to me because in the near future we never know how things might change and how environment affects our way of living. Being contented on what we have is the most important thing to accept instead on undergoing some surgery to make yourself beautiful in the eyes of others. It can lead us to damaging the inner and outer part of our body because in every surgery there’s a counterpart effect. It might affect our brain, internal organs as well as our external looks.

Media Images need to be evaluated properly of everyone, because it is the main reason why other people not to choose the original looks of their selves and wanted to be someone else. We might start to compare ourselves with other people or media images. We also experience negative comments and hurtful teasing about the way we look from peers and everyone around us. Although these often come from ignorance, sometimes they can affect body image and self-esteem.

Love our own self is the important thing to do, we should be real and authentic, be compassionate and kind, surround ourselves with the people we love, and lastly learn to accept your own flaws.

This seminar thought me that what other think of you is none of my business. Let them think and think and think until they realized that nobody cares on their judgements.
