Based on the latest Kaiser Family Foundation survey, two in every three parents feel that their children are being exposed to too much inappropriate content in the media. Celebrities and people in key leadership positions are to be conservative and understand that they have children as well as adult looking up to them. Celebrities were granted with a the privilege to be someone's role model, whether they wanted to or not. So many believe celebrities and people in key leadership positions are to be held to a higher standard. However, I do not agree with this statement because celebrities are human they make mistakes, and parents should not expect the media to raise their children but someone much more tangible like themselves.

The well renowned Bishop T.D Jakes was bashed by the media because his adult son was at a local park performing inappropriate behavior with his private parts. Although the act of his son was very disturbing and degrading to the family, humans act as if they could not relate to someone having a son/daughter who brought disgrace to their family. I cannot comprehend why people think because T.D Jakes is in leadership and has a mega church that he can control the type of son he has. Humans make mistakes constantly. People who are in leadership are not perfect. Every day, a celebrity makes a decision, and several hours later, its big news. I don't get it. Celebrities know that the general public are going to look up to them and have their own opinion about them, but that does not give people the right to treat celebrities as if they have to be unrealistic human beings. If anything, bringing upon so much pressure to be perfect could cause someone in leadership to act out negatively. Are these stories that everyone should be talking about? These events can happen to anyone. Most things that happen to celebrities have happened to someone else. Some parents have been disgraced by their children. Almost everyone knows someone who is in an abusive relationship or has been in an abusive relationship. Yet time and time again, people see a celebrity linked to an action, and are instantly appalled.

Furthermore, celebrities are held accountable for others actions as well as their own because sometimes when thinking of the word celebrity the word role model some how often gets unanimously attached. Based on a recent Newsweek poll, 77% of Americans believe that celebrities have too much of an influence on young girls. Living in a technological world, we have access
