I found a petition I thought you might like to read. It is about the continuing human rights abuses against the Falun Gong meditation group in China and is an easy way to help. The petition is at http://falunau.org/petition.jsp

Support the right of Falun Gong practitioners everywhere to practise their peaceful beliefs without persecution or harassment by the Chinese Communist Party. I further call upon the Australian government and all world leaders to defend freedom of belief, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, by insisting that the Chinese Communist Party abide by the terms of these treaties and unconditionally release all Falun Gong practitioners in custody and cease all forms of persecution of Falun Gong.

As an advocate of human rights I believe firmly that Falun Gong practitioners must be given permission to be able to practice in all parts of the world without hindrance. Any practice that promotes peace among people generates health and the promotion of a healthier and more capable generation of people. If anything there work and practice should be encouraged. It is only by achieving a state of peace that people can really achieve greatness, learning and development. In line with not only the WHO goal to attain healthier communities by 2012 but also the declaration of human rights and International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights we must work together for the liberation of peoples right to practice. Only good can be attained by the practice of Falun Gong. The CPC is repressing its own peoples development. By not allowing its practice they are also effecting the potentialities of its practice to followers in the rest of the world. We must stand for the authority of the UN covenant to be upheld in all parts of the world.

The Falun Gong Movement is peace giving and health promoting and in accordance with the World Health Organisations plan for health for all their practices do no harm and evidently assist people in leading more fulfilled lives. The Chinese Government does not allow their teachings and people that practice often recieve harsh penalties, or to the extreme: death.
