Introduction

I have chosen to write about gay marriage or same-sex marriage. There are people who can choose their sexuality and there are some who are scared to accept the fact that they are interested in the same sex and are looking for a soul mate to be with of the same sex gender. Also there is the fact that the person whom may be homosexual may not like the gender that they were born as and they might even want to start cross dressing or may even want to have a sex change.

Gay Marriage

Gay marriage or in other words same-sex marriage is when a woman and another woman or a man and another man get married to spend the rest of their lives together for their personal reasons. The first gay couple, as we know of, Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum, was Ancient Egyptian royal servants in the year of 2400BCE and are listed as "royal confidants" in their joint tomb. Niankhkhnum and his wife had three sons and three daughters and one grandson. Khnumhotep and his wife had five sons and one daughter. The tomb of Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum was later discovered by Egyptologist Ahmed Moussa in the Saqqara, Egypt in the year of 1964. In ancient Egyptian painting the two men, Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum, appear to be more like brothers, rather than a couple.

The first same-sex married couple of all times were between two men, their name was Pedro Diaz and Muno Vandilaz in Galician Municipality of Rairiz de Veiga in Spain. The wedding occurred on April 16, 1061 by a priest at a small chapel. As many years passed later the documents about the wedding at the church was discovered at Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova. From the discovery that was found in the encyclopedia of the very first gay marriage throughout the world was Pedro Diaz and Muno Vandilaz. In the previous years before Pedro and Muno married they did have other same-sex couple besides them. In that time same-sex relations was a Christian thing. "If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of sexual intercourse healthy and natural. Homosexual anal intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:27)." I believe when God had created men and women the sexuality is not important to his (God's) eye because he loves all of his children the same no matter what their sexuality is.

"Gay marriage is one issue where some individuals' ethical principles have come into conflict with state law." (Mosser, 2010).

"In the United States in the year of 2004, Massachusetts was the first to allow same-sex marriage. The city of Cambridge issued the first marriage licenses to gays and lesbian couple, (CNN Justice)." The state in the United States that allow gay and lesbian marriage are Massachusetts (May 17, 2004), Connecticut (November 12, 2008), Iowa (April 27, 2009), Vermont (September 1, 2009), New Hampshire (January 1, 2010), and New York (July 24, 2011). The list is continuing to grow to this day. Within the next year or two the same-sex marriage is growing and more people are starting to get use to the fact that their same-sex relationship are for permitted and the families
