Being excessively shy can very much influence a person's life as communication with people is the basic area of everyone's life. One that is too timid is likely to face some serious problems, but there are three major ones. First and the most obvious struggle is one's social life, because not opening up to anybody means having no friends and eventually no one taking care about the person. It is crucial as a shy individual separated from others becomes even more withdrawn and cold. Second major concern is definitely work, as shy person is not confident enough to pursue his or her own ideas. Even if they are unique and original, they very easily go unnoticed. This makes a promotion almost impossible as the boss is not able to see any improvement of the employee's work.

Thirdly, it is not generally acknowledged but excessive shyness can cause serious physical problems. Being constantly under a lot of stress about something so basic as contact with other human - being makes it impossible for the body to go on like this. One is at greater risk of developing severe depression, panic attacks and substance abuse problems.

As seen from the examples presented above being extremely shy can truly influence one's life.
