Jealousy can be vicious in many ways and can ruin an individual's life. What is jealousy, jealousy is having feelings of envy, apprehension, or hostility. It's a subordinate emotion and typically refers to the undesirable thoughts and feelings of lack of confidence, fear, and anxiety over a predictable loss of something that the person values, for the most part in reference to a human connection. Jealousy is a very ordinary and typical emotional response to a perceived intimidation. Getting jealous is not essentially bad. Complications arise when your jealousy gets incontrollable and your behaviors get out of control. The route of many iniquities, and can affect us, all from the poorest of paupers to the richest of kings. It has lead men to falsehood, cheat, steal and exhibit other injurious acts toward their fellow man. This one sentiment has shattered the spirits of men since the dawn of time, and there is no end in sight.

Destructive jealousy is based in actuality. The emotional danger that is infuriating the jealousy is real and can be supported with external evidence. Explanations for the jealousy are valid but then again the way this jealousy plays out is the problem. When feeling a destructive jealousy people typically lash out at the person or people who have caused them harm. It is a heated jealousy that is based in retaliation. It is not an actual defense mechanism because the motivation is on hurting the one that has hurt you back and not reaching a solution. Once jealousy has absolutely taken over, it terminates your relationship with the partner who is being suspected of wrongdoing. Unreasonable fears lead to vicious and manipulative behavior in the worst cases. Jealous allegations turn into personal offenses of an emotionally rude nature, which can lead to physical and even sexual violence.

Obsession is one factor that jealousy can be destructive and is a crippling level of jealousy. At this point, an individual has been taken over by their pathological paranoid thoughts. They begin to question every step that his/her companion takes and every statement he/she makes. He/ She may even detect their mate at all hours of the night and day to make sure their most awful qualms are not coming true. This high degree of lack of confidence is not good for both partners. If a person becomes obsessive and starts to think that their companion is doing something behind their back he/she will eventually lock that person from going anywhere and will not let the person make any type of communication with anyone, even family.

Family distrust is another factor of destructive jealousy. This nature of jealousy most commonly arises between siblings, but can happen between cousins or any other family member. This type of jealousy is typically borne out by too much attention being given to one person over another. Family distrust is one of the most awful and damages the relationship moreover, hurts the most because family
