Japanese and European industrialization was similar in many ways and different in others during the period of the 1750’s through 1930’s. Most countries in these period started to have industrial revolutions where they started to use machines such as the cotton gin and the spinning jenny which improved the lives of humans. Japan and Europe both experienced these industrial revolutions which is when they started to use machines for agriculture and started to open up factories. They were alike in many ways but also unalike.

One social aspect that was similar was they both had rapid population growth and one social difference is in Europe there was a full increased opportunity for education for women but this was not the case in Japan. In both Europe and Japan there were the population had a major increase. Eastern Europe’s great population increase in the late 18th century, extending well into the 19th century was a major economic change. Between 1750 and 1800, the populations of most countries including Japan and Europe increased between 50 and 100 percent, as a result of the new food introduced to them which includes the potato and there also was a exponential decline in disease in all countries. A social aspect that was alike was they both had population growth and one social difference is in Europe women were given an equal opportunity for education but in Japan there only was some increased opportunity for education.

Neither Japan or Europe had capital flows to their countries from another, granting extensive ownership stakes in their domestic companies and assets. Both countries had a small incentive to open up the domestic market to foreign firms with developed machinery and technologies. To continue, In Europe they had they energy sources already inside the country. They had large domestic deposits of coal for steam power and large domestic deposits
