Is Government Welfare Rewarding Irresponsibility?

In a moral world, people are helping one another, working to support their families, and doing the right things for the better of society. Unfortunately, people seem to be missing accountability and responsibility. People are not as concerned with doing what is right if the opportunity to do wrong is within their reach. The government has tried to help those who do not have the means to live, but I believe many of these people are living off of the government as a means for life. The government needs to find the loop holes in which irresponsibility can thrive and become more efficient to help society help itself.

Teen pregnancy is an issue that has been around for years but cannot be addressed properly for the reason that the United States is a country based on freedom. If you want to get pregnant at 13, the united states gives you the right to be a mother at 13. If you need help raising the child at 13, the government will help you and give you the money to support your child through welfare, medicaid, and WIC programs. They do not have the money to pave roads correctly or continue to help students with things like the promise grant, but they do have the money to pay out welfare to those that do nothing.

I do understand that there are people who do need the help temporarily due to unfortunate events. The way that people apply and receive welfare is simply way to easy and seems to be more permanent that anything. We should be focusing on spending money helping those that want to help themselves than giving it to people who enjoy vegetating and making babies for a living.

I have seen this first hand through my boyfriend's family. His mother lives off the government like she has since she was 16 year old mother. All three of her children have had children as teenagers and the only one who has made any improvement as to not live off of the government is my boyfriend. We both work hard to pay rent and expenses until school is done. We do not have children together because they would be a part of the equation that would complicate the outcome. He does have two children
