Lighthouse Cainta Grows in Grace

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

 2 Peter 3:18

This year’s third quarter emphasis entails “Growing in Grace,” a call for every member to step up and grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As the Apostle Paul attest of the grace of God bestowed upon him which sufficed and accomplished much in his life as a follower and labourer of Christ, Lighthouse BBC- Cainta had been saturated with preaching and teachings about the areas in which we can use the GRACE of God in our lives and in the ministry.

“Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love  to us, see that ye may abound in this grace also”.

2 Corinthians 8:7

The Sunday before our loving Pastor’s departure for his 18-day Qatar mission travel, he left us with a timeless lesson wherein we as faithful stewards of the manifold graces of God, may continue growing together as one church, through faith, utterance, knowledge, diligence, love to the ministry, respect to the man of God and in the area of grace through giving.

Hebrews 1:1 defines  FAITH  as  the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen,  also this this has been reiterated by our pastor  as the  grace of obedience, for it was faith that gave courage to Abraham to  offer his son Isaac  as a burnt offering for he had known that it was HIM that gave,  Abraham honoured  God’s  authority over all things and by faith obeyed.

Secondly is UTTERANCE that includes our eagerness and boldness to share the Word of God and our Christian life testimony that makes us effective witnesses of Christ. As part of Christ’s great Commission, the Bible teaches us to preach and share the gospel in season and even out of season, this verse accentuates our need to share the blessing of salvation to the unsaved souls.

Thirdly is KNOWLEDGE. In us, there should always be thirst and hunger for the Word, we can grow in this value through attending the services, through Bible studies, personal devotions, and fellowships. For faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God. True Biblical knowledge enables us to understand even the deep things of God. Growing in knowledge means understanding the depth, the length, the width, and the height of God’s love which is in Christ Jesus.

Fourthly is DELIGENCE, the consistency in all things. We have been given the opportunity to be involved in the Ministry. Through these ministries we are allowing God to use our talents and abilities for God’s glory, but things doesn’t just end by being involved in it, the call rather is about abounding in the ministry which had been given you accountable for, it is about growing in the place and in the ministry the Lord has put you into, it’s about staying, being steadfast, being unmoveable, and knowing that our labours in the Lord is never in vain.

Fifth is love to the ministry and respect to the man of God. These are qualities that are inseparable. As we grow in love to the ministry, it is but natural that we grow in honour to the man He called. Growing in such area entails loving the ministry and the man of God not for who he is but for what he does in his God-ordained office. Growth in these areas is manifested in our obedience to authority and our commitment to the ministry.

All that is mentioned are expression of grace: Grace of Obedience, Grace of Utterance, Grace of Knowledge, Grace of  Diligence, Grace of Love and Respect to the Pastor, and Grace of Giving. We are enabled by His grace and for His glory. Everything we do and we can accomplish is with a greater meaning and for a greater purpose. Putting it simply, we have been blessed to be a blessing. We are mere channels of God’s goodness, mere instruments of God’s love.

In lieu to our third quarter theme, the Lighthouse Gazette interviewed our different Church Tribes to get encouraging testimonies from our very own members asking them the specific areas in which they have used God’s grace and realized growth.  Let us learn, be encouraged and be blessed from our brethren’s personal testimonies on how the Lord through the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church continues to hone us preparing us for greater glory.

TRIBE OF JUDAH

“By faith, as a student natuto akong maprioritize, balansehin ang school activities at magalaan ng oras para sa Ministry”.

                                                                        -Daniel James Magayon

Daniel is a high school student who testifies that being an active student in school does not hinder someone from doing and being involved in the ministry for the Lord by offering  his time, his energy, his life  all for  God’s glory. He is an active member of the orchestra, he  points out his growth through FAITH wherein he was increased in the desire to be a blessing to others through playing the violin for God’s glory, through faith he was determined to be more involved and diligent in the practices  so that every time he will be playing he is sure that he is  giving his very best as an offering to the Lord. Through faith also he was able to balance his school activities and the ministry, he was able to know his priorities.

“The Graciousness of the lords taught me to be more grateful in giving and doing the ministry. His rich grace also caused me to support and love the church”.

-Elizabeth Saccuan

From a little bit carefree life of a youth to a too much preoccupied life of the Lighthouse Young Professionals,  Elizabeth, a public school teacher, an active member of  the choir, and a dedicated teacher at the LOCK and LKC, would testify that she  had grown much in faith and knowledge  through attending all the services, as faith comes  from hearing and hearing by the word of God, in which her foundation of  all the truths concerning faith, utterance, knowledge of the word of God,   diligence,  and love.  In diligence knowing also that God deserves nothing but the best, she grown on how to be more diligent in the ministry and even in his secular job because she now is more aware that she is a steward of God’s grace who bears witness of Christ.

“Lagi kong panalangin sa panginoon na [Lord, increase my faith] for faith propels action for utterance and diligence, the more na kilala mo ang Dios mo, the more ka na magtitiwala sa Kanya”

-Maria Victoria  Magayon

A brief testimony that represents one of the faithful women of God, Marivic Magayon explains that she started growing in the ministry through being rooted and grounded in the Word of God, only then that a Christian is able to grow. Love follows faith and love which then results to utterance and diligence -  these things are interconnected.
